For Axis, we are now looking for you who are studying to become a system developer, engineer, or civil engineer and want to work 1-3 days alongside your studies. Here you will belong to the New Business department, and the position is perfect for you who want to apply your studies to the workplace and gain experience in the industry.

About the position:

In New Business, you will be part of a very competent and driven team with a strong interest in working with testing from an end-user perspective. As a student employee, you will work closely with the developers and constantly learn new things. You will also get a mentor who is there for you as a sounding board and ensures that you develop. You will attend daily scrum meetings where you are expected to express your opinions based on the test cases and errors that have been discovered.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is currently studying at a university or college with a focus on Data, Technical Mathematics, Technical Physics, or System Development and has at least two years left of their education. You are likely studying to become a civil engineer, but a university engineer or system developer is just as good as long as you have the right attitude. You have good programming skills but above all a strong interest in troubleshooting and problem-solving. As a person, you are driven and proactive. You are fluent in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

You need to feel quite comfortable in Python as you will be working at the system level and testing both manually and automatically with both scripted and exploratory methods. The work takes place in both Windows and Linux environments. You have basic knowledge of network technology and are familiar with TCP/IP, Routing & Switching, DNS, Proxy & DHCP. It is a big plus if you have previous experience with testing, either in the workplace, school, or in private projects.

About the Gig

This is a consulting assignment, or gig as we call it at Gigstep. It is a part-time position where it is expected that you have the opportunity to work continuously 2 days a week, but there will also be opportunities to work more during releases or ad hoc needs.

The location is at Axis office in Lund, and the start date is flexible for the right candidate.
